Jesper Bruksner, our new Chief People & Culture Officer, is the right person for this task. He has extensive experience across various HR roles in the tech space. He’s pragmatic, outgoing, optimistic and loves to go fishing.
Hi Jesper! What will you be doing at Hydda?
I will be taking on the role as Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO), which will involve ensuring that we offer all people at Hydda Group a fun and challenging environment, while ensuring that Hydda becomes more effective through its people.
What is your professional background? What have you done before?
I started my career by spending a couple of years in the recruitment industry before moving into HR. Since then I have held various People/HR roles, both as a manager and specialist, most recently at Kry and before that in various roles at Klarna. The common denominator throughout my career is that I have always worked with the tech organization in the companies I have been in.
What was it that attracted you to change jobs?
I have been thinking about moving to a company that is in an early stage of its growth journey and when I was contacted about the role of CPCO at Hydda, I felt that this was the opening I have been waiting for. Both the role itself and, above all, Hydda as a company fits me perfectly.
We always ask the classic sports question: How does it feel?
It feels great! It’s fun to join a team with high energy and great team spirit. I am very much looking forward to contributing with what I can! The first weeks have been exciting, and it has been inspiring to understand more about what Hydda stands for, where we are now and where we are going!
What did you know about proptech before and what do you think about the future of the industry?
Not much, and I’m looking forward to learning more. After a few weeks, I have picked up a lot and understand where many of the challenges in the industry are and how important it is for the development of proptech to move forward. To enter a company that is involved in this development feels very inspiring!
How do you want to contribute to Hydda’s development?
We have a fun journey ahead of us within Hydda Group, and I believe that promoting synergies within the group will be very important for us! Initially, we need to build a People & Culture strategy that maps to Hydda’s overall goals with initiatives that, among other things, highlight and promote our culture and give us the basis for making the right decisions.
What will you tackle first?
Initially, I will mainly work closely with our business, that means getting to know the companies we have within Hydda Group and understand what challenges exist and what challenges we may encounter in our growth. Since Hydda currently grows mainly through acquisitions, it is important to create tools and processes that allow us to continue to grow quickly, without making it too complex.
How are you as a person? What are your strengths and weaknesses?
As a person, I want something to happen all the time. In recent years, I have noticed that, for better or worse, I have become more pragmatic. Otherwise, I am outgoing and optimistic.
What drives you in everyday life?
The common denominator in everything is having fun and accomplishing things together with others.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Above all, I spend my free time with my partner and our 1.5-year-old son. Besides parenthood, fishing gives me peace of mind. I also have a slightly too committed and destructive interest in a hockey team, which unfortunately takes more joy than it gives.
Tell us something fun and/or unexpected about yourself
In a strange way, I have managed to trudge through two Swedish classics, before being stopped by the pandemic halfway through the third Swedish classic. The reason why I decided to do a Swedish classic in the first place was “getting into shape”, but I somehow managed to come out on the other side in worse shape than before.
